In fact, Braga specifically pinpoints reading Books of Blood, by genre legend Clive Barker, in his early 20s as a seminal moment for him. What his creative resume has so far lacked is much horror, a genre that Braga tells SYFY WIRE he considers an early, and lasting, influence on his writing career. But he’s also co-created many other genre series, including Threshold and Salem, and he’s now an executive producer on The Orville. To say he’s synonymous with the franchise isn’t wrong. He also co-wrote two Trek films, Generations and First Contact. He started as an intern on Star Trek: The Next Generation, then rose up through the writing ranks to showrunner of Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. When Brannon Braga’s name is cited in sci-fi circles, most people immediately think of Star Trek. ![]()
